Eastern Kentucky District family suffers loss
Rusty Bellomy, the Eastern Kentucky Work and Witness coordinator, was killed in a motorcycle accident caused by a drunk driver on Friday, July 18. Bellomy’s 12 year old grandson, who was on the bike with him, is hospitalized in critical condition.
NNU appoints new VP of University Advancement
Northwest Nazarene University President David Alexander, with the approval of the Board of Trustees, has named Joel Pearsall the new vice president for University Advancement.

Africa Ablaze Christian Conference 2008
Africa Nazarene University will hold its first-ever interdenominational youth conference on August 20-25. The topics include character development, knowing God’s will, fighting corruption, youth and the media, sexuality and dating, and the Christian and politics.
Drug trafficker encounters Jesus
“When we saw him come we were sure he was up to something,” reported a JESUS Film team member in Kenya. “The days he came to the showings were only to cause an interruption. Then one day he arrived and sat quietly and watched the film.”
Morningstar Institute: New program at Southern Nazarene University
“This summer has been an exciting time for us at the Morningstar Institute,” Professor Nancy Rizkalla, director of the international development and poverty alleviation-training institute, said. “We are in the stages of finalizing our program and continuing to develop existing as well as new international relationships that will benefit our students.”
NNU’S Thomas Family Health and Science Center takes shape
Construction continues on Northwest Nazarene University’s new Thomas Family Health and Science Center, scheduled to open in January 2009. The building project will enable the university to better meet the needs of the growing nursing, biology, chemistry, physics, math, and computer science departments. (Slideshow)
NNU student awarded Congressional Gold Medal
Amanda McGehee, a senior pre-med major at Northwest Nazarene University, was recently awarded a Congressional Gold Medal at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. The Congressional Gold Medal is the highest award that a young person in the U.S. can earn.
